BC Lions Futures & Prop Bets

The season is around the corner – time to look at how the oddsmakers see the BC Lions going into the 2012 season.

For good reason, everyone sees BC as the frontrunners in the CFL this season.

Let’s take a look at the Bodog CFL odds.

Odds to win the 2012 Grey Cup: B.C. Lions 7/2

The Lions are the betting favorites to win it all this season. The defending champs will certainly be hunted. Still, with a budding superstar at quarterback and two of the most accomplished receivers in the game BC has it all.

The Tiger Cats and Stampeders are seen as their biggest competition – it doesn’t seem close.

Odds to win the 2012 CFL West Division: B.C. Lions 5/4

The Calgary Stampeders are the best of the west outside of the BC Lions and they are going into the season with a largely untested Drew Tate starting at quarterback. Again, on paper, it doesn’t seem close.

British Columbia Lions – Total Regular Season Wins in 2012

Over 12½ (EVEN)
Under 12½ (-130)

This is where it gets a bit interesting. In the NFL this seems a bit more daunting but the CFL is 18 games. The Over means the Lions have to go 13-5.

Interesting indeed.

Bet on BC Lions Football

Are you ready to begin 2012 CFL Betting? Why don’t you start by placing a wager on the BC Lions this week?

Who will lead the CFL in touchdown passes in 2013? Travis Lulay (BC) 5/2

Lulay’s biggest competition for this category is Anthony Calvillo. A healthy Calvillo always dominates that category but the key word here is healthy. At 39 you have to think that Lulay is the new Calvillo.

Watch Travis dominate the league this year!

Who will lead the CFL in passing yards in 2013? Travis Lulay (BC) 2/1

You already know what I think!

Who will lead the CFL in rushing yards in 2013? Andrew Harris (BC) 10/1

There are at least four, maybe six better backs in the league – Brandon Whitaker, Avon Cobourne, John Cornish and Corey Boys among them. It is hard to see the Lions leaning on the running game like other teams do.

Who will lead the CFL in receptions in 2013? Geroy Simon (BC) 8/1: Arland Bruce III (BC) 12/1

Geroy Simon is the best bet here and there is no reason to think that he won’t be in the top 3.

The one problem with relying on Geroy – some guy named Jamal Richardson in Montreal who was the best by a mile last year.

Who will lead the CFL in receiving yards in 2013? Geroy Simon (BC) 7/1: Arland Bruce III (BC) 12/1

It’s Jamal Richardson all day in this category although a small bet on Geroy is not terrible!
